Wedding production is the design and construction of a wedding event, including styling and creating flow. It can include:
Lighting: Spot lights, mood lighting, stage washes, fairy lights and mirror balls
Sound: Wireless radio mics, PA systems, mixing decks, and sound engineers
Stage: Elevated stages, draping, backdrops, and tablescapes.
Other elements: Dance floors, Design Elements, Photo Ops
For events with a substantial guest list, or couples who want that effortlessly glamorous event, wedding production can play a crucial role. Production elements are instrumental in creating a wow factor and enhancing the overall atmosphere of the wedding.
A wedding production coordinator offers support throughout the entire process, from suggesting rentals to orchestrating the rehearsal and ceremony, as well as executing plans.

Do you have to have production?
If you don't have a large showband, it might not be necessary. However, consider these issues: the time of day, lighting when it gets dark, how to create a party atmosphere, whether you need a stage or dance floor, or if you can manage without them, and if you require a PA system for speeches. If, after considering these questions, you find that only a PA system is necessary for speeches, you might spend very little on this part of your day. However, remember that for your party or dancing, creating the right mood or atmosphere is important, and this is best achieved with some party lighting, even if it's minimal.
Why Production?
An experienced team will expertly optimize every design element to create a seamless and visually stunning event. They can also address any potential problems during setup, guaranteeing a smooth event day with no unexpected issues. Additionally, they can assist in answering any questions about incorporating extra features into your event and the best locations for them, such as interactive experiences like photo booths, to enhance your guests' enjoyment!

Why does production have to cost so much and why are my quotes so varied?
Like everything in life, goods can be bought in various material qualities and service standards. Production services follow this same principle.
Lighting – consider the lighting in your home; the quality of the illumination is somewhat influenced by how much you invest in the lighting unit, and the same principle applies to event lighting. Each lighting unit used at your event comes with a purchase price, as well as costs for storage, maintenance, and transportation to and from the event location.
Stage Specification – consider stage design as an example; it could be a basic platform stage for a sweetheart table or a custom-built stage with tiers, mitred edges, stairs, and more... the size of your venue can greatly impact if you will require a stage so you and your head table can be seen.
Dance floors – You will have a couple of options between click-together dance floors, LED Dance floors, and vinyl print dancefloors. There will be a significant cost difference between dance floors that are regularly maintained and replaced when scratched or worn out, and those from a company that repeatedly sends out the same components year after year without any maintenance or replacement of worn sections.
How much production is required to meet your needs.
The number of staff allocated to the event – ensuring that the production supplier has an adequately sized team working on your wedding day. If not, and the setup isn't completed on time, it could disrupt all your other suppliers and potentially affect your wedding schedule in a worst-case scenario. Setting up a wedding with lighting, sound, stage, and dance floor is a significant task and requires the production team to be on-site early in sufficient numbers. Additionally, they need a team assigned for the "de-rig" at the end of your event to ensure the venue is completely vacated by the end of the rental period.
